What We Do
The Caring Mushroom in Waterloo, ON is a small-scale cultivator of a wide variety of fresh specialty mushrooms.
We grow various types of oyster mushrooms including blue oyster and black pearl king oyster, shiitake, lions mane, chestnut and beech mushrooms.
Enjoy many delicious and hard to source specialty mushroom varieties you won’t find in your typical grocery store.
Our Practices
We grow our mushrooms using organic grain spawn and sawdust substrate supplemented with soybean hulls or wheat bran without any need for pesticides, chemicals or fertilizers.
Our partnerships are the key to supporting our local food supply. The Caring Mushroom partners with businesses in and around Kitchener-Waterloo to improve access and availability of our fresh specialty mushrooms.
